Touax Texmaco

TOUAX TEXMACO RAILCAR LEASING Ltd ( TTRL ), is a joint venture company of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited and Touax Rail Limited, which is a constituent of Touax Group headquartered in Paris, France.

TOUAX Group began its existence in France around 1853 and is today an actively traded company in the Paris stock exchange. Its primary activities are in leasing wagons, containers, barges and modular structures. It is now present worldwide with assets under management of over 1.8 billion Euros.

Texmaco has been associated with the Indian Railways and the Rail Industry for decades, and takes pride in being the largest and one of the most respected wagons and coaches manufacturer in India. It was established in the year 1939 by the renowned industrial house of Birla’s. One can say that one out of every four wagons in India is built by Texmaco.

To participate, in the opening of the railways to the private sector with the notification of the WLS, LWIS, CTO, SFTO and AFTO schemes it seemed opportune, to enter the Indian market given our wagon manufacturing and leasing background and expertise from around the world. TTRL has, therefore, registered as a Wagon Leasing Company with the Indian Railways and obtained a Licence under the Wagon Leasing Scheme.

What TTRL plans to do is marry Texmaco production capabilities of the various types of wagons permitted for private ownership and Touax experience in leasing these assets on operational basis to the various operators and actual users.
